Heart OK Please

ou can keep snoozing the alarm. You can keep rushing out, breakfast half eaten, half not. You can keep joining the gym and keep skipping it. You can keep enjoying chewing on the pink and yellow acidity tablets, after eating things you shouldn’t have - greasy pizza, cheesy burgers, stale French fries. You can keep lying on the couch and not sitting straight up. You can keep working at your brilliant job and forget that it’s your brilliant job that keeps you tied to your desk all day. No activity, no exercise. You can keep hearing stories of men who suddenly developed cholesterol problems, heart problems, blood pressure fluctuations, but think that it will never happen to you. You can keep making excuses about why you’re putting on weight, why you’re adding tyres (ok sorry, love handles) around your waist. You can keep wearing vertical stripes, black shirts and sucking your breath in. You can keep enjoying your life because that’s what life is about. But you can always take time out from your maybe-it’s-ok, maybe-it’s-not-ok lifestyle and find out if you are HEART-OK.
